Label: SLIPKNOT Bassist Suffering From 'Exhaustion', Will Rejoin Band For European Tour
April 28, 2005Lisa Fernandez of the Des Moines Register reports: To the shock of many maggots, Des Moines metal band SLIPKNOT performed last weekend at Hilton Coliseum in Ames without bassist Paul Gray.
Singer Corey Taylor's announcement from the stage was vague — that Gray had been hospitalized, would return soon, etc.
Rumors are running rampant. Official word from Roadrunner Records this week is that Gray, absent since the April 20 show in Denver, is suffering from "exhaustion" and will return in time for the band's trip to Europe at the end of May.
The "Subliminal Verses" tour hasn't been smooth sailing for SLIPKNOT. Percussionist Shawn Crahan has missed gigs to care for his ailing wife. Percussionist Chris Fehn is awaiting surgery for a torn ACL; and a couple of gigs were canceled prior to Denver to rest Taylor's voice.
